Under the Laughs for the Troops umbrella, you will find many other great programs to help our veterans, increase awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI), raise funds and recruit volunteers. Here’s a brief look at each.
It’s a comedy show patterned after the old USO Bob Hope specials. We put four of America’s funniest comedians together on stage for a night of family-friendly, laugh-till-you-cry comedy for all ages. The show allows everyone an opportunity to come out and laugh while sitting with true American heroes.
Our signature event, Comedy on the Greens Golf Tournament, is an opportunity to play a round of golf with some of America’s top comedians and veterans. Even better, we’ve added some exciting events that make it the premier charity event that it is.
The Point is the monthly Laugh for the Troops’ newsletter and focuses on pertinent information on PTSD, TBI, and all of the related Laugh for the Troop events. We invite to you sign up! We fill mail bags full of good gifts and deliver them to veterans who can’t be with their families for holidays. It lets them know that someone cares for them, and is there for them. It brightens their day, and ours as well.
A 5k and 10k race that gives participants the opportunity to proudly run or walk beside local veteran heroes. It’s not just for the serious athlete, but for anyone who wishes to raise funds and show their support for our veteran community. It’s popular with families, businesses and community organizations. You can even sponsor a run in your local area.
Our dream here is to create a 20-acre oasis for homeless and suicidal veterans to find shelter in a calm, peaceful and untroubled environment where they can not only be themselves, but better themselves through counseling and therapy programs with service dogs and horses.
